Reba Lawanda Nichols

Reba Lawanda Nichols was born on June 7, 1926, in Prague, and departed this life on Monday, April 4, 2011, in Prague, Oklahoma, at the age of 84. Reba, the daughter of J.L. and Pearl Francis (Cook) Denney, was a lifelong resident of the Garden Grove area southwest of Prague. Reba graduated from Prague High School in 1943. She married Herschel Abraham Nichols on January 22, 1944 in Prague. She along with her husband Herschel, owned and operated Nichols Grocery. Reba also worked at Prague National Bank, Parks Brothers Hardware, and First National Bank, which later became BancFirst of Prague, where she retired in 1991. She was an active lifelong member of Garden Grove Missionary Baptist Church. Reba was preceded in death by her parents. Survivors include her husband of 67 years, Herschel Nichols of the home; son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Donna Nichols of Prague; daughter, Nina Nichols of Denver, Colorado; grandson, Sean Nichols and his wife Sara of Oklahoma City; brother and sister-in-law, Bob and Betty Denney of Prague; sister, Freda Dimpel of Shawnee; other relatives and many friends. Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 8, 2011 at 2:00 PM, at Garden Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Prague with Bro. Charlie Clem and Bro. Donnie Knight officiating. Interment will follow at Garden Grove Cemetery in Prague. Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Prague.
