Orpha "Orphie" Ann Pursley

Orpha 'Orphie' Ann Pursley was born on September 9, 1918, in Fletcher, Oklahoma, and departed this life on Monday, August 24, 2009, in Meeker, Oklahoma, at the age of 90. Orphie, the daughter of George Samuel and Ova Belle (Barker) Sumpter, was a resident of Meeker. She married Lilburn Alfred Loyd Pursley on December 22, 1972, in Oklahoma City. He preceded Orphie in death on December 4, 2003. She was a homemaker. Her parents; daughter, Judith Ann Lewis; and two sisters also preceded Orphie in death. Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, Bill and Linda Young of Meeker, Jim and Pat Young of McAlester, George Young of Hinton, Mike and Sylvia Young of Eufaula, Guy and Peggy Young of Bison, KS, Kenneth and Vicki Young of Shawnee; daughters and sons-in-law, Vivian and Phillip Workman of Prague, Wanda and Carlos Beristain of Corpus Christi, TX, Faye Rohrick of Shawnee; brother and sister-in-law, Tony and Sue Sumpter of Stillwater; thirty-nine grandchildren; thirty-five great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 27, 2009 at 10:00, at Parks Brothers Funeral Chapel in Prague with Bro. Tim Emmons officiating. Interment will follow at Resurrection Memorial Cemetery in Oklahoma City at 2:00 PM. Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Prague.
