Millie Mary Wert

Millie Mary Wert, Eufaula, Oklahoma, resident, formerly of Chandler, was born on July 3, 1919, in Chandler, Oklahoma, and departed this life at her home in Eufaula, on Friday December, 24, 2004, at the age of 85 years, following a battle with cancer. Millie was the daughter of Edgar and Rose Herdon Walley. She was the oldest of seven children. Millie married Benjamin L. Wert on January 8, 1954, in Las Vegas, Nevada. As a military wife, she traveled everywhere Benjamin was assigned and that the family could go. Her favorite times were spent in the kitchen. Millie loved to cook and could make a meal out of anything. She also enjoyed baking, making jelly and sewing. Her parents, stepfather, Milton Musser; two brothers, Clarence and Edgar R. Walley; three sisters, Edith Phillips, Iola Dunn, and Ruth Ryan preceded Millie in death. Survivors include: Husband of 50 years: Benjamin of the home; Two daughters and son-in-law: Linda & Mike Burns of Eufaula, OK; Carole DuPuy of Flagstaff, AZ; Two Grandchildren:Christopher Burns & Wife Jackie of Tulsa, OK; Kaitlyn DuPuy of Flagstaff, AZ; One great granddaughter: Hannah Burns of Tulsa; One sister & brother-in-law: Lee & Bob Cadenhead of Stephensville, TX; Numerous nieces & nephews and friends
