Mildred F. Lawrence

Mildred F. Lawrence was born on August 30, 1922, in Carney, OK, and departed this life on Saturday, February 26, 2011, in Edmond, OK, at the age of 88. Mildred, the daughter of Sam and Lola (Gazaway) Groves, was a long-time resident of Chandler. She married Homer E. Lawrence on December 14, 1941, in Carney, OK. Mildred and Homer owned and operated Lawrence Hardware Store in Chandler for many years. She recently moved to Edmond to be closer to her family. Mildred was a member of the First Baptist Church in Chandler. Her parents, husband and one brother preceded Mildred in death. Survivors include, one son, Duane Lawrence of Edmond, OK, two daughters, Vonnie Evans of Edmond, OK, Sandra Ogrosky of Foutain Hills, AZ, 8 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, other relatives and many friends. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March, 3, 2011, at 10:00 A.M., at the First Baptist Church in Chandler with Rev. Rick Blackwell officiating. Burial will follow at Carney Cemetery in Carney, OK. Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Chandler.
