Ginger Warren Cleveland passed away on the 5th of October. Ginger was born to Leonard and Minnie Warren on May 29, 1930. She married Ray Cleveland on December 9, 1950, in Shawnee, Oklahoma. They shared a love for all sports, especially OU and OSU football. Ginger graduated from Sulphur High School in 1948 and was accepted into nursing school the same year. She graduated from Wesley School of Nursing, Oklahoma City, in 1951. She was born to be a nurse, and for the next sixty years practiced the profession across the board – operating room, emergency, floor nurse, and home health, but her favorite was the OB ward. She would tell you, up front, that the greatest thrill any one person could ever experience would be to bring one of those little stinkers into the world. Her first love, of course, was her family. She would have to be armed with lots of love – and tons of patience to have pointed the noses of four mischievous boys in the right direction -- and then convince four daughters-in-law that her sons were worth their trouble. And then came the grand kids – and life’s flowers began to bloom again. What she (or her husband) accomplished to receive such a blessing! No question about it – seven beautiful grand kids equals seven acts of grace. We have had the best for sixty plus years, and thank God every day for having her as our rock. This is a note that her eight year old grandson wrote while she lay in the last hours of her life. May I say that her husband, her four sons, and the other six grandkids whole heartedly agree. Dear Grandma, I love you so much. We will miss you when you die very much. You have brought joy to our family. I hope you have a good time in heaven. We will miss you a lot. We have had fun with you. Love you. Josh A graveside service will be held on Friday, October 8, 2010 at 2:00 PM, at Oaklawn Cemetery in Sulphur with Rev. Bill Leveridge officiating.
