Mary Ellen Patterson

Mary Ellen Patterson, passed away on February 15, 2022 in Oklahoma City, at the age of 85. She was born on Friday, June 19, 1936 in Sapulpa, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of Clent Monroe and Jessie Beatrice (Jennings) Southerland. Mary grew up in Sapulpa and attended Sapulpa Public Schools, graduating from Sapulpa High School in 1954. Following high school, Mary met the love of her life, George Roy Patterson and the two were married on April 8, 1955. They were happily married until his death. The couple made their home in Sapulpa and later moved to Oklahoma City, Moore and eventually Prague in 1972, where they lived out the rest of the years. Mary worked for many years at TG&Y, Wrangler and the Prague Hospital. Mary was a talented seamstress, she spent many hours sewing. She also enjoyed studying her families genealogy and word search puzzles. Her greatest passion was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, George Roy Patterson; one son David Wayne Patterson, one granddaughter, Rebekha Hobbs-Stratton; one sister, Elizabeth Fish; one brother, Billy Southerland and her daughter-in-law, Debra Patterson. She is survived by four children, Deborah Mayfield of Prague, Daniel Patterson of Prague, Thomas Patterson and his wife, Sherri, of Oklahoma City, Violet Hobbs and her husband, Morris, of Council Hill; seven grandchildren, Christopher Cernocky and his wife, Melinda, Jonathon Patterson and his wife, Donna, Latricia Solano, Kevin Mayfield, Samantha Hobbs, Heather Hobbs and Gene Stratton; twelve great-grandchildren; one brother, Carl Southerland and his wife, Dorothy, of Sapulpa; Sisters-in-law, Lois Patterson and Lillie Patterson; Brothers-in-law, Joe Patterson and Jim Mark Patterson; special friend, Jesse Leo Yates and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
