Mary Adeline Simek was born on October 5, 1910, in Welty, OK, and departed this life on Thursday, February 3, 2011, in Stroud, Oklahoma, at the age of 100 years. Mary was the daughter of Edwin & Saphronia (Swan) Craig, was a long time Stroud, Oklahoma resident. She was a member of the Deer Creek Baptist Church and Stroud Rebekah Lodge # 86. Mary worked as a 'Riviter' at the Douglas Aircraft Plant in Oklahoma City during World War II and was a member of the Belle Star baseball team at Douglas, her favorite movie ' League of Their Own' a movie about women's baseball in the early 1940's. She then worked at Herman's Restaurant Allred's Restaurant and then the Rock Cafe until retiring on to the Stroud Senior Citizens. She was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, one brother, three sisters, one son, two great grandsons, one great great granddaughter. Survivors include three daughters and sons-in-law, Ethel Harrison of Okemah, OK., Lodema & Aubrey Hyde of Davenport, OK., Linda Stephens and Charlie Harper of Stroud, OK., one son & daughter-in-law, Jim and Warnetha Simek of Sparks, OK., 18 Grandchildren, 41 Great Grandchildren and 54 Great great grandchildren, other relatives and many friends. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, February 8, 2011, at the Parks Brothers Funeral Home Chapel in Stroud, Oklahoma. With Rev. Darcey Hightower officiating. Burial will follow at Prague Cemetery in Prague, Oklahomar. Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Stroud, OK.
