Madelyn Frazier

Upon this earth, she walked in beauty, adorned with serenity, and alive with fire, as her red hair and infectious laughter so easily revealed. Her mind was as sharp as her twinkling blue eyes, and her wit, fabulous and famous! She held a high standard for life, living, and love: the highest being the standard of her strong Christian Faith, and she lived ever mindful of The One she considered most precious, her Savior, Jesus Christ. On Saturday, November 13, 2021, at home in Prague, Oklahoma, Madelyn Lee Frazier went home to be with Jesus while sleeping peacefully. Born December 10, 1934, "Auntie Lyn", as so many have come to call her, passed in her sleep at the age of 86 years old. Madelyn was born to Reverend Anna Dewey (Birdie) Foiles Friedrich and Robert L. Friedrich in Long Beach, California. She, along with her sister Laura Anderson, was raised up by her parents in the greater South Los Angeles area. Her Mother pastored the 108th Street Pentecostal Church of God and her Father was a faithful Co-Worker serving many offices while also working fulltime as a Machinist and Automotive Instructor. Lyn was a P.K. (Preacher's Kid) who was instilled (by example) with a diligent work ethic that served her into late retirement, and with the ideal that all Women can and should break through glass-ceilings and social barriers in order to thrive in their respective callings. Madelyn attended Long Beach Christian School in Long Beach, California, where she excelled in her studies and graduated two years ahead of schedule. She learned to read music and played the piano, accordion, and was the School's Organist during her high school career. All of these cultivated talents were put to good use for the Kingdom of God as she decided to accept the offer to itinerate with Deliverance Crusades Evangelistic Association, her sister and brother-in-law, Dr. Richard and Laura Anderson at the helm. Lyn had a lovely soprano singing voice and quickly became a member of their official trio, The Harmonettes, in addition to being the Organist. Following a brief marriage to Mr. Kenneth Frazier, Lyn went on to pursue a career in business, education, and then business again. Commuting daily to downtown Los Angeles, she worked for the telephone company, enjoying the rewards of success. Following that position she became a top employee and a Director of the Montebello branch of Southland College, a career school offering training in various supporting legal and medical fields. It was during her tenure here that she accepted a position in Mediation and Arbitration for the City of Montebello, California. Lyn received numerous awards for her work in that capacity and was even lauded for her work and honored in a City parade. Not one given to self-promotion, only two or three family members were notified. Following retirement from Southland, and shortly after the passing of her Mother, Madelyn decided to take a position at World Vision International in Monrovia, California. She, along with her aging Father, and a dear Family friend, (Aunt) Vicki Hare, relocated to Glendora, California. Her job in the President's office required international travel she found exhilarating. Her business acumen and skills were many and all of them excellent, but none greater than her ability to communicate. Lyn had presence. Whether in her writing or in public speaking, she not only commanded an audience but she did not use hyperbole to do so. Everything was quality content! Upon her last career retirement, Lyn was celebrated by her peers and leadership. She enjoyed occasional get-togethers with them for several years to come. Shortly after the move to Glendora, Aunt Vicki Hare passed, and only a few years later, her Father, whom she had so lovingly cared for, passed as well. With these changes and leaving her beloved Los Angeles area, Madelyn decided to close the 80 mile distance by moving to Hemet, California to be near her sister Laura and brother- in-law, who now pastored in San Jacinto, California. Lyn, having no children of her own, loved and doted on her nieces and nephews whom she'd come to regard as her own children in many respects. They are Richard L. Anderson (passed); Judith Leeper; Cheryl D. Anderson-Sanchez; Stephen T. Anderson. Great Nephews and Nieces: Richard D. Anderson; April Davis; Christopher Leeper; Timothy Leeper; Anna Heslin; James Schiermeyer; Laura Schuon; Chase Sanchez; Travis Anderson; Victoria Anderson; Robert Anderson. And a long list of Great-Great and Great-Great-Great Nieces and Nephews who know, love and adore Auntie Lyn-- especially her traditional nightly Tea Time. Not long after her move Lyn developed serious health issues that weakened her physically, however, she bounced back admirably and became active in the Community and was a valued office team member in Ministry positions. Lyn's sense of wonder and adventure found her in a sailplane soaring high in celebration of her 70th birthday! She greatly enjoyed ocean cruising, road-tripping around Southern California, and New England fall foliage tours. Lyn appreciated "true, quality cuisine" and was a meticulous chef. She loved animals and promoted their good care. She took a class and learned to paint, producing several lovely watercolors. Her love of Family was seconded only by her love for God. People from all quarters have been very blessed by Auntie Lyn and comment how was the most kind, gracious lady they've known, valuing people -not a pushover by any interpretation, but full of integrity and the love of Christ. To say Auntie Lyn will be missed is like saying flowers would be missed! A great lady has passed from among us and like flowers, we shall be keenly aware of of the absence of her physical presence, but her lovely "fragrance" will never diminish. She walked in beauty and even now walks in unfathomable joy and beauty on Streets made of Gold. A life that was and is and shall ever be with the Lord.
