Linda Lee Siler

May 18, 1946 — June 24, 2022

Linda Lee (Lynch) Siler passed away on Friday, June 24, 2022, at her home. She was the daughter of Fred and Violet Lynch. She was born May 18, 1946. She married Robert (Bob) Siler June 30, 1965. Linda was preceded in death by her mother, father; three brothers, Darrell, Earl and wife Jeanie, Freddie; and one sister Doretta Riggs. She is survived by her husband Bob, of the home; two sons, Eric and his wife Kathy, Darin and his wife Kimberly; two sisters-in-laws, Sharon Lynch, Judy Lynch; grandchildren, Katherine and husband Rocky, Colten, Cristen, Sherri and her husband Roger Ford; one great-granddaughter, Adley, and two great-grandsons, Aden, Lane; one aunt, Naoma Langwell; and many cousins, nieces and nephews. We also wish to acknowledge the loss of our Anna, Darin’s first wife in 2018. She was a super lady and is sorely missed. Bob joined the Navy in 1967. After he got out of boot camp, Linda moved to Chicago for six months while he was in Hospital Corps School. They were then sent to Charleston Naval Base in South Carolina for a year where she gave birth to her first son, Eric. She then accompanied him to Guam where they lived for a year before she had to return home to prepare to give birth to their second son, Darin. Bob remained in Guam for another six months until he was discharged. That marked the longest period they were ever apart. She began her working career in banking in Davenport and Oklahoma City. They lived in Oklahoma City after Bob returned from the Navy. In 1972, they moved back to Davenport where she worked as a teacher's aide and then ran Vi-Lin's Grocery, with her mother, for five years. In 1985, she went to work as Deputy Court Clerk in Chandler. In 1992, she was elected as Lincoln County Court Clerk where she worked until her retirement in January 2005. She loved playing piano and played for the First Baptist Church in Davenport for nearly 50 years, starting when she was 12 years old. She also played for weddings and funerals all over the county, including Curry's Funeral Home (now Parks Brothers). While serving as court clerk, she was elected president of the Oklahoma Court Clerk's Association where she was recognized by the State Supreme Court for her management skills. She was also instrumental in computerizing the office, bringing her own computer to the office until the county was able to budget the money to purchase computers for the whole office.
