Lillian Louise Stephens, 85, of Choctaw went to be with her Lord on June 29, 2011. She was born January 13, 1926 in Berwyn, Oklahoma to Commie and Lela Conway. Louise grew up with 3 brothers and 2 sisters, having lost two other siblings in their infancy. Louise as she was known, attended the University of Oklahoma where she received a bachelor's degree in education. She taught elementary school for over 30 years in Oklahoma and Ohio. She married Charles Joseph Stephens, June 2, 1951, and together they had two daughters, Mary and Caroline. Louise loved to can produce from the garden, work crossword puzzles, sew and arrange flowers for church services. She taught Sunday School most of her adult life. Louise loved the Lord and wasn't afraid to share her faith. She is survived by her daughter, Caroline and son in law, Mark Mathews of Harrah, 2 granddaughters, Sarah Shamrock of Choctaw and Kathryn Felty of McLoud, one truly loved great-granddaughter, Natalynn Shamrock of Choctaw, one brother, Gene Conway, of Ardmore, Oklahoma, one sister, Nadean Marshall of Powell, Wyoming and a host of relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Stephens, daughter, Mary Elizabeth Stephens, her parents, Commie and Lela Conway, 2 brothers, Howard Conway and Frank Conway and a sister, Gernice Gray. The family will receive friends from 8pm to 9pm, Thursday, June 30th at Smith-Parks Funeral Service, 2039 N. Tim Holt Dr., Harrah, OK. Services will be 10:00 AM, Friday, July 1, 2011, at the First Baptist Church, Harrah, OK, with Rev. Mark Mathews and Rev. Gary Eubanks officiating. Interment will be 2:30 PM at Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery, Ardmore, OK. Services are under the direction of Smith~Parks Funeral Service in Harrah, OK.
