Lavada Mae 'Dode' Dionne was born on February 13, 1924, in McCurtain, Oklahoma, and departed this life on Thursday, July 7, 2011, in Shawnee, Oklahoma, at the age of 87. Lavada, the daughter of Lee Hugh and Josie (Collins) Crosby, was a resident of Paden. She married Edward George Dionne on February 16, 1953 in Reno Nevada. He preceded her in death on July 12, 2009. Lavada retired from Libby's Cannery following 20 years of service. She then worked as a sewing machine operator at Wrangler where she also retired following 20 years of service. Lavada's parents, one sister, and two brothers also preceded Lavada in death. Survivors include daughter, Brenda Lee Dionne of Paden; sons and daughter-in-law, Darrel and Joy Dionne of Norman, David Allen Dionne of Prague; sister, Ida VanCleave of Henryetta; grandsons, Scott Lee Dionne and his wife Angie, Zachary Tomer; great-grandchildren, Elizabeth and Kathryn; two special children who called her Grandma, Dara Brown and Sierra Mayfield. The Dionne family will receive friends on Sunday afternoon from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Parks Brothers Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 11, 2011 at 10:00 AM, at Lighthouse Holiness Church in Prague with Rev. Aaron Brock and Bro. Paul Heard officiating. Interment will follow at the Paden Cemetery in Paden. Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Prague.
