Kathryn Florence 'Tabby' Gutshall was born on June 10, 1924, on the Redbud Sioux Reservation in Cherry County, Nebraska, and departed this life on Thursday, June 26, 2008, in Shawnee, Oklahoma, at the age of 84. Tabby, the daughter of Clyde Allen and Leta Viola Lee Gentzler, has lived in Shawnee for 11 years. She spent her early years on the Redbud Sioux Reservation where her father was an Indian agent and her mother a school teacher. She graduated from high school in Hyattsville, MD, and attended George Washington University. Tabby married Randolph M. Gutshall on January 19, 1943. He preceded her in death on January 8, 1975. She worked for many years in advertising with the Daily Ardmorite. In 1970, Tabby was one of the first women in the state of Tennessee to pass the test for her private pilot''s license on the first try. She also bowled and was passionate about playing bridge. Her parents and four sisters also preceded Tabby in death. Survivors include son and daughter-in-law, William Terry and Frieda Joyce Gutshall of Marana, AZ; daughter and son-in-law, Linda G. and Phillip W. Langston of Shawnee, OK; five grandchildren, Damon Blaine Gutshall and his wife Anna of Santa Clarita, CA, Brent Lee Gutshall of Phoenix, AZ, Wendy Katrina Gutshall of Pleasanton, CA, Harper Leigh Arms and her husband Bryan of Shawnee, OK, Phillip Ryan Langston of Shawnee, OK; one great-granddaughter, Sydnie Arms of Shawnee; her beloved Zipper; and many friends.
