Joyce Madean Smith Shelton

Joyce Madean Smith Shelton was born on December 8, 1931, in Stroud, Oklahoma, and departed this life on Monday, May 4, 2009, in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, at the age of 77. Joyce, the daughter of Erby and Mary Watson Smith, was a resident of Broken Arrow. She graduated from Stroud High School, worked in home health care, and was a member of Messiah Baptist Church. Her parents; two brothers; one sister; one son, Billy Martin; and one daughter, Linda Marion, preceded Joyce in death. Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Beverly and Randy Pendergrass of Broken Arrow, Brenda Burgett of Del City; brother and sister-in-law, Paul and Darlene Smith of Dewey; sister and brother-in-law, Eunice and Bob Collins of Paden; grandchildren, LaRhonda Sloupe, Travis Gomez, Mariah Marion. Dennis Schofield, Chad Schofield, Brent Pendergrass, Michael Schofield, Richard Polach; 20 great-grandchildren; and other family and friends Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 8, 2009 at 2:00 PM, at the Burnett Mission in Paden with Bro. Paul Heard officiating. Interment will follow at the Paden Cemetery.
