Josephine Carolyn Lewis

Josephine Carolyn Lewis was born on October 22, 1927, in Chandler, OK, and departed this life on Thursday, May 3, 2012, at her home in Chandler, at the age of 84 years. Josephine, the daughter of Charley W. and Beatrice S. (Jackson) Maxwell, was a life-long Chandler resident. She married Eugene Forrest Lewis on November 5, 1949, in Chandler. Josephine worked as a Nurse's Aid for many years and was a member of the Central Baptist Church in Chandler. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sons, Forrest and Brian, five brothers, three sisters, and one special niece, Jolene. Survivors include four sons and daughters-in-law, Glen Lewis, Barry and Demetra Lewis, Rodney Lewis, Bradley and Trish Lewis all of Chandler, five daughters and sons-in-law, Anita and Marvin Garcia of Chandler, Annetta Lewis and Marvin Sneed of Chandler, Marsha Lewis of Chandler, Tammy Lewis of Shawnee, OK, Becki and Mark Roberts of Shawnee, OK, one brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Nardell Maxwell of Chandler, special nephews, Brent and Bob West, thirteen grandchildren and four great grandchildren, other relatives and many friends. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, Monday, May 7, 2012, at Parks Brothers Chapel in Chandler, with Rev. James E. Reed officiating. Burial will follow at Clear View Cemetery in Chandler. Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Chandler, OK.
