John Provaznik was born on February 7, 1932, in Prague Oklahoma, and departed this life on Wednesday April 3, 2013, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, at the age of 81. John, the son of Frank and Viola (Crabtree) Provaznik, was a lifelong resident of Prague. He attended school at Mt. Hope, White, and graduated from Centerview in 1950. John married Betty Miller on July 22, 1959 in Shawnee, Oklahoma. John farmed all of his life south of Prague on land homesteaded in 1891 by his grandparents. He also worked as a mechanic at Grissom Implement from 1972 to 2002 and drove a school bus for Centerview and Prague schools from 1958 to 1976. John enjoyed hunting and fishing. His parents preceded John in death. Survivors include; his wife of 53 years, Betty, of the home; sons and daughters-in-law, Johnny Leon and Debra Provaznik of Prague, and Travis and Amber Provaznik of Prague; daughter and son-in-law, Kathleen and Johny Nix of Paden; grandchildren, Monica and Janay Nix Audra and Frank Provaznik, and Mason Provaznik; along with other relatives and many friends. The Provaznik family will receive friends at Parks Brothers Funeral Home in Prague on Friday, April 5, 2013, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 6, 2013 at 2:00 PM, at the First Baptist Church in Prague with Bro. Tim Emmons officiating. Interment will follow at the Czech National Cemetery in Prague.
