John Mark Mcvey

John Mark McVey, age 94, of Harrah, OK, was born on May 31, 1915, in Kingsman, Kansas. He was the son of Jessie & Lota V. (Gratner) McVey. He left this life on Tuesday, October 6, 2009, in Harrah, OK. John married Florence Miller on December 24, 1941 in Harrah, OK. He was a carpenter for 48 years and an ordained minister who preached actively for ten years. John was a member of the Harrah Nazarene Church. He enjoyed art, crafts and poetry. John was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, 2 sisters, 7 brothers and one great-grandchild. Survivors include 3 daughters & 2 sons-in-law, Karen & Billy Sparks, Choctaw, OK, Kathryn & Herman McFillen, Norman, OK, Twyla Sharp, Oklahoma City, OK; 8 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends. Services will be 2:00 PM, Friday, October 9, 2009, at the Asa Smith Memorial Chapel, Harrah, OK, with Rev. Hubert Gilbert officiating. Interment will follow at Ferrell Cemetery, Harrah, OK. Services are under the direction of Smith~Parks Funeral Service in Harrah, OK.
