John Earl Waldman

June 17, 1936 — August 27, 2007

John Earl Waldman, 71, went to be with his Lord, the 27th of August, 2007. Born June 17, 1936, to H. W. Waldman and Blanche Greenfield Waldman, in Chandler, Oklahoma. John was a retired successful independent oil and gas producer. He was co-owner of Landers & Waldman, Inc. for 25 years, in partnership with Ed Landers of Okemah, Oklahoma. John and Ed had a very special and unique business relationship. John was also a very successful insurance agent with Farm Bureau for 25 years, retiring in 1986. He was a lifelong farmer rancher, which was his passion. He also served in thee Oklahoma National Guard. John was a member of the Chandler Chamber of Commerce, Davenport Chamber of Commerce, member and former board member of American Petroleum Institute, and former member of Lincoln County Cattlemen''s Association. John was a member of the First Baptist Church of Chandler, Oklahoma and a board member of The Baptist Foundation of Oklahoma. He was proceeded in death by his parents; first wife Sedalia Laffoon Waldman; daughter Kelly Waldman; sisters Margie Waldman Reedy and Sue Ella Waldman. He is survived by his beloved wife of 38 years Joni Shelton Waldman. Others left to cherish his memory include his three sons Wade Waldman and wife Carrie, Brett Waldman and wife Susan, and Len Waldman all of Chandler, Oklahoma and one daughter, Traci Waldman of Minneapolis, Minnesota; 12 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Roxie Summers of Sherman, Texas and Pat Hutchison of Edmond, Oklahoma; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. John lived his life as a shining example of a Christian life. His testimony is a brilliant example of the amazing impact Christ had on his life, and because of Christ the enormous impact he had on everyone around him. His dynamic spirit and unyielding generosity touched the lives of everyone around him. His family was always an important source of strength and pleasure for him and he loved playing with his grandchildren during holidays and his numerous cookouts. He will be greatly missed by his family and we will be awaiting the day that he will meet us at heaven''s gate. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the John E. Waldman Memorial Fund Fund will be used to build a cross on the hill behind the First Baptist Church in Chahndler, to be seen from the turnpike and townat First Bank of Chandler or Union Bank of Chandler.
