Jimmy Lee Lewis

November 27, 1957 — August 21, 2021

Longtime Stroud resident, Jimmy Lee Lewis was born to Roy and Hazel (Cecil) Lewis on November 27, 1957, in Mena, Arkansas and passed away on Saturday, August 21, 2021, at the age of 63 years in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He was one of five children having three sisters and one brother. Preceding him in death were his parents and one sister, Linda King. A 1976 graduate of Davenport High School, Jimmy retired as the Public Works Director for the City of Stroud after 29 years. He began reading meters as a young man and being a conscientious employee, soon worked his way up the ladder. He married his soulmate, Angela Patterson, and they enjoyed 37 years of a rewarding and fun-filled marriage. He accepted Christ as his Savior and was baptized as a member of the First Baptist Church in Stroud on March 28,1999. He trusted and leaned heavily on his faith throughout his months of illness. Brother James Bond was a constant source of encouragement to him. Jimmy loved the outdoors, fishing, and especially his farm which was his biggest hobby. He was a loving husband, dad, a devoted Pa to his grandsons, and a kind and loyal friend. He was a quiet, gentle guy with a big, unselfish heart who was the sweetest guy ever, always helping and doing for others. He was extremely appreciative of every kind gesture that was extended to him and was known for his generous spirit. He adored his family and loved spending time and entertaining them with his “kid silliness” unknown to the world. This beloved man will be sorely missed. Jimmy is survived by his wife Angie Lewis; his daughter C’Anne Smalley and husband Jason; his daughter Taylor Lewis and Rhett King; his grandchildren Gideon, August and Lincoln Smalley; his sister Janet Canady and husband Jeff; brother Larry Lewis and wife Zora; sister Vonda Hale and husband Tommy; Floyd Brown, Jr and Megan McSperitt; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Memorial Services will be held on Wednesday, August 25, 2021 at 10:00 am at Stroud First Baptist Church with Pastor James Bond officiating. Condolences may be offered online at www.parksbrothers.net.
