Jessie Leonard Dukes

Jessie Leonard Dukes was born on October 17, 1928, in Pottawatomie County, Oklahoma, and departed this life on Thursday, July 15, 2010, at his home in Prague, Oklahoma, at the age of 81. Leonard, the son of Lee William and Opal Canada (Broyles) Dukes, was a long-time resident of Prague. He graduated from Paden High School with the class of 1946. He married Vera Louisa Eaton on June 14, 1947, in Paden. Leonard retired from Tinker AFB where he was a warehouse supervisor. He was a member of Church of Christ. His parents preceded Leonard in death. Survivors include wife of 63 years, Vera Dukes of the home; daughters and sons-in-law, Patricia & Jerry Snyder of Tabacundo, Ecuador, Sandra and Johnny Dean of Prague, Sherrie and Ray Lyon of Prague, Deborah and Ted Garcia of Brighton, Colorado; brothers and sisters-in-law, Levoy and Sue Dukes of Prague, Ledoy and Lavonne Dukes of Prague; grandchildren, Curtis and Kym, Travis and Lisa, Justin and Amanda, Kevin and Laura Snyder, Jeffrey and Jennifer, Jason and Wendy Dean, Roger and Stephanie, Joe Lyon and his fiance, Shannon, Brandon and Katina, Shawn, Jesse and Lisa Garcia; thirty-four great-grandchildren; many other relatives and friends. The Dukes family will receive friends at Parks Brothers Funeral Home in Prague on Friday, July 16, 2010 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 17, 2010 at 2:00 PM, at Parks Brothers Funeral Chapel in Prague with Lonnie Hutton officiating. Interment will follow at the Prague Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Prague.
