Jerry Ross Peters, of Prague, Oklahoma, passed away on April 28, 2022 in Prague, at the age of 81. Jerry was born on January 8, 1941 in Calvin, Oklahoma. He was the son of Vernon V. and Virginia (Moore) Peters. Jerry grew up in Calvin, attending Calvin Public Schools. He also lived in California for a time, growing up. After high school, Jerry proudly served his country by enlisting in the United States Army. While in the Army, Jerry served as a Military Police Officer, while stationed in Germany. Jerry was a jack of all trades. He drove a school bus for Prague Public Schools and worked as a maintenance man for the Stroud Nursing Home for many years. Jerry married the love of his life, Anna Mae (Holik) Peters on April 25, 1962 and just recently celebrated sixty years of marriage. The couple had two children and they made their home in Prague. Jerry enjoyed working on his farm. He loved to care for the horses, mules and chickens. He spent many hours on his tractors. In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting, gardening and spending time outdoors. He was known for his giving spirit, helping anyone who needed it. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Elayne Peters Womack and her husband, Kenny; two nephews, Kenneth Ray Womack and David Womack He is survived by his loving wife of sixty years, Anna Mae Peters of the home; two children, Sherry Ann Peters of Prague and John Peters and his wife, Kerri, of Newalla; grandchildren, Rodney Ross Peters of Shawnee and Crystal Peters of Newalla; three great-grandchildren, Ariel May Peters, Bradyn Seth Peters and Harlee Marie Peters; one niece, Lora Elayne Monteros and her husband, Danny; two great-nephews, Daniel Monteros and Lucas Monteros and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
