Jay H. Boland was born is Stroud, Oklahoma on November 21, 1941 and departed this life at his home in Kimberling City, MO. on November 1, 2015 at the age of 73 years. Jay was the son of Marshall Durel 'Jelly' and Bertha Marguerite (Getman) Boland. He was a resident of Kimberling City, MO. He attended Stroud High School. He married Saundra Sue Shipley. He worked in the oilfield and owned and operated NLS, Inc. starting the business in 1968 and ran the business for 47 years. The couple lived in Southwest Kansas and the Panhandle of Oklahoma where they raised nine surviving children before retiring in the Ozarks. They owned and operated Joe Bald Markert in Kimberling City, MO for the past 12 years. He loved the Oklahoma Sooners, Dallas Cowboys, and his grandson's football team in Reeds Spring, MO and his beloved pets, especially Buddy. He was preceded in death by his parents & two sisters, Shirley Wolff and Betty Morgan, and two brothers, Dale 'Peachy' and Jim. Survivors include, his wife of the home, two sons & daughters in laws, Thomas and Brandy Thacker of Branson, MO., Cliff & Jo Boland of Darazette, TX, seven daughters & sons in laws, Sally & Max Huling of Floris, OK., Ronda & Mark Schmitzer of Turpin, OK., Sharlyn Boland of St. Louis, MO., Mary & Kelly Gray of Floris, OK,. Pamela Arteaga & Martin Ramos of Tobasco Villa Hermosa, Mexico, Christina Yearick and Rick of Kimberling City, MO., Mona Chavez of Kimberling City, MO., twenty nine grandchildren and twenty nine great grandchildren, other relatives and friends. Graveside service will be held at the Kendrick Cemetery, Kendrick, Oklahoma on Friday, November 6, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. In lieu of flowers donation may be made to Shriner Hospital, Transportation Fund, 601 St. Louis St. Springfield, MO. 65806.
