James C. Wood, Sr.

James C. Wood, Sr., Harrah, OK, age 71, was born on June 9, 1934, in Wellsville, NY. He was the son of Elvin & Fannie Dennis Wood. He left this life on September 29, 2005, in Harrah, OK. James proudly served in the U.S. Air Force for 28 years, retiring as a Chief Master Sergeant. His service included the Korean and Vietnam wars. He worked at Tinker AFB for six years and was a member of the VFW and DAV. James enjoyed camping and fishing. James was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Dennis; and one sister, Sally. Survivors include his wife, Patricia Wood of the home; 3 sons & 1 daughter-in-law, Daniel Wood, Choctaw, OK, James C. Jr., & Michelle Wood, Ft. Atkinson, WI, Scott Wood, Sapulpa, OK; 3 sisters, Joyce Lehman, Waco, TX, Doris Perkins, Wellsville, NY, Gladys Swarthoust, Wellsville, NY; 1 granddaughter & 2 grandsons; 4 great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends. A Wake service will be held at 6:00 P.M., Sunday, October 2, 2005, at St. Teresa?s Catholic Church, Harrah, OK. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 A.M., Monday, October 3, 2005, at St. Teresa?s Catholic Church, Harrah, OK, with Father Alan Loth officiating. Interment will follow at Arlington Memory Gardens, Midwest City, OK. Services are under the direction of Smith~Parks Funeral Service in Harrah, OK.
