Howard Warren Stephens was born in Healdton, OK on December 8, 1922, and departed this life in Stroud, OK on Saturday, September 27, 2014, at the age of 91 years. Howard was the son of Johnny and Irene (Rogers) Stephens. He was a resident of Kendrick since 1979. Howard served in the United State Coast Guard during WWII. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Stroud and worked as a Master Technician for British Protrolum Oil Company for many years. Howard married Emma Lou Wonderly in Stroud on November 18, 1946. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers. Survivors include, his wife of sixty-seven years, Emma Lou of the home, one son & daughter in law, Howard Jr. & Susan Stephens of Wynnewood, one daughter & son in law, Connie & Richard Boone of Tulsa, two sisters, Lois Burns of Shawnee, Joyce Krick of Shawnee, six grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, eight great great grandchildren, other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at the First Baptist Church in Stroud, Tuesday, September 30, 2014, at 10:00 A.M. with Rev. John Burns and Rev James Bond officiating. Burial will follow in the Parkland Cemetery, Parkland, OK under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Stroud, OK.
