Howard L. Guinn, 82, a Lincoln County resident since 1974, died at his home in Prague, Oklahoma, on September 23, 2004. Mr. Guinn was born March 18, 1922, in Crowder, OK, to James E. and Minnie O. Teem Guinn. He married Betty L. Parker on November 10, 1945 in Last Chance, OK. He married Mary J. Rowley on February 14, 1969 in Bell Gardens, CA. Mr. Guinn served in the United States Army, 45th Armored Division, 3rd Tank Battalion, under Gen. Eisenhower?s ETO from November 28, 1942 to October 25, 1945. He was awarded the Purple Heart, 3 Bronze Service Stars, Sharp Shooter Medal, and Good Conduct Medal. A member of the International Union of Operating Engineers, Pasadena, CA, since 1957, Mr. Guinn also operated a road grader for Lincoln, Pottawatomie, and Seminole Counties. He was a member of the Prague Free Will Baptist church for almost 30 years. His parents; brothers, John H. and James E. Guinn; and infant brother and sister, Gene and Georgia Lou Guinn, preceded Mr. Guinn in death. Survivors include his wife, Mary Jo of the home; daughters, Gail Franklin of Ontario, CA, and Sherri L. Edwards of Midwest City; granddaughters, Maria Guinn of Ontario, CA, and Sherry Franklin of LaPuente, CA; grandsons, Kam Miller and wife, Angie, of Midwest City, and Shon Miller of Midwest City; sister and brother in law, Letha Belle and Leland Scrimshire of Okemah; brothers and sister-in-law, Noah and Kathy Guinn of Bearden and Jerry Guinn of Lake Tenkiller; Gail?s mother:Betty Gilbert of San Pedro, CA; and a host of other relatives and friends.
