Herbert Riley "Pudge" Smith

Herbert Riley 'Pudge' Smith was born on August 3, 1934, in Okfuskee County, and departed this life on Friday, December 10, 2010, in Prague, Oklahoma, at the age of 76. Herbert, the son of Samuel Sylvester and Katie (Cooper) Smith, was a resident of Prague. He graduated from Paden High School. Herbert married Sandra Sue Case on February 4, 1955. He worked as a Toll Gate Supervisor for the Oklahoma Turnpike Authority for 37 years and was an avid hunter and fisherman. Herbert's parents and four brothers, Bill, Herman, Carl and Glenn Smith preceded him in death. Survivors include wife, Sandra Sue Smith of the home; sons and daughters-in-law, David and Linda Smith of Oologah, Kinley and Faith Smith of Eufaula; daughter and son-in-law, Elizabeth and Bill Rooth of Shawnee; grandchildren, Catherine Lansford, Heather Files, Jennifer Rooth, Ryan Daniel Smith, Kalah Tipton, Taylor Smith, and Lauren Smith; great-grandchildren, Olivia Lansford, Mason Files, and Clayton Files; brother and sister-in-law, Hubert and Donna Smith of Prague; sisters-in-law: Neta Smith of Enid, Doris Smith of Prague, Nelda Smith of Owasso; numerous other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 13, 2010 at 10:00 a.m., at Parks Brothers Funeral Chapel in Prague with Rev. Mike Haines and Rev. Scott Keneda officiating. Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Prague.
