Goldie Ellen Montgomery long time resident of Auburn, California died Thursday, December 15, 2005, at the Senior Care Facility near Aubrun, California at the age of 85 years. She was born on June 1, 1920 in Paden, Oklahoma to James Samuel and Nancy Melville Johnson Newton. After marrying Arthur William Montgomery in Sacramento, California on March 8, 1958, she retired from the Civil Air Command near Sacramento, where she had worked as a machinist to devote full time to being a housewife and loving mother to four boys. In addition to her parents, Goldie was preceded in death by two brothers, John David Newton and William Elliott Newton, her sister Olive Lorene Newton Bogenreif, and her two stepsons, Randy and Mike Montgomery. Goldie survivors include her husband, Art Montgomery of 47 years. Two sons Larry Don Watts and Nathan James Watts. Brothers and sisters-in-law, Charles D. and Jimmie Newton of Bethel Acres, Oklhoma, Norman Lee and Van L. Officer of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; Lynuel and Harriett Newton of Hot Springs, Arkansas; nieces and nephews, Norris Lynn Newton, Aneta Sue Newton, Ronald E. Officer, Karen Davenport, Wreatha Lynn Joiner, Linda Charlene Dawson, Judy Carol Ramsey, Shron Sue Moore, Cheryle Ann George, Nancy Mary Iven, and seven grandchildren - Leigh, Lisa, Lora, Robert, Daren, Paige, and Shane, Velet the oldest of nine great-greatchildren whom she also raised and many other relatives.
