George Hillsman Jackson, age 90, of Choctaw, OK, was born on April 10, 1920, in Chickasha, OK. He was the son of George Washington & Grady (Lockard) Jackson. He went to be with his Lord on Sunday, May 9, 2010, in Norman, OK. George graduated from Chickasha High School in 1938. He and Naomi Ruth Nelson were married on April 3, 1944, in El Reno, OK. George proudly served in the U. S. Army during WW II. He was active duty Army for 12 years and was a member of the 45th Infantry Division of the Oklahoma National Guard. George was an academic director at the Ft. Sill Field Artillery School. He was in the Army and civil service for 32 years. George was treasurer for the South Arkansas District Church of the Nazarene for 14 years and was a district licensed minister for 14 years. He was a member of the Church of the Nazarene and served as a board member and treasurer in local churches. George enjoyed hunting and ceramics. George was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, 2 brothers, Leonard & Leon, 4 sisters, Era, Alene, Sophi Marie and Emma Jean. Survivors include 2 sons & daughters-in-law, George W. & Mary Jane Jackson, San Antonio, TX, E. David. & Sherry Jackson, San Antonio, TX; 1 daughter & son-in-law, Janet L. & K. Laverne Stinson, Choctaw, OK; 11 grandchildren,Tony & Rebecca Jackson, Melyssa Jackson, Janelle & Bryon Redden, Tami & Scott Rowland, Teri & Joe Kamphuis, Tonya Greenway, Bandon & Marci Jackson, Blake & Jody Jackson, Brianne, Connor & Declan Oryan; 16 great-grandchildren, Dennison, Rylan & Greyson Jackson, Destiny & Jocelyn Hamilton, Christopher & Nicholas Rowland, Hanna, Samuel & Timothy Kamphuis, Haleigh, MaKenna & Jackson Greenway, Andrew, Nathaniel & Noah Jackson and many other relatives and friends. Services will be held 10:00 AM, Friday, May 14 , 2010 at the Asa Smith Memorial Chapel, Harrah, OK, with Rev. K. Laverne Stinson officiating. Interment will follow at Elmwood Cemetery, Choctaw, OK. Services are under the direction of Smith~Parks Funeral Service in Harrah, OK.
