Elgie Caril Ford, Harrah, OK, age 87, was born on February 13, 1926, in Barnsdall, OK. He was the son of Obed & Maggie Ann (King) Ford. He departed this life on Tuesday, August 13, 2013, in Midwest City, OK. Elgie married Virgie Opaline Palmer on March 24, 1944, in Coalgate, OK. He retired from OG&E where he was a boiler mechanic. Elgie was a member of the Choctaw Church of the Nazarene and the Harrah Historical Society. He played in the senior citizens band in Harrah for many years. He enjoyed playing the guitar, playing with his grandchildren and was a great back scatcher. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Opal, 3 brothers and 4 sisters. Survivors include 4 daughters & sons-in-law, Carolyn Sue & Bobby Capps, Corsicana, TX, Penny Caril & Greg Dzuik, Renten, WA, Theresa Evelyn Brewer, Hinton, OK, Lisa Opal & Doug Allen, Hinton, OK; brother, Buddy Ford, California; 6 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild and many other relatives and special friends. Services will be 2:00 PM, Friday, August 16, 2013, at the Choctaw Church of the Nazarene, Choctaw, OK, with Rev. Hubert Gilbert officiating. Interment will follow at Ferrell Cemetery, Harrah, OK. Services are under the direction of Smith~Parks Funeral Service in Harrah, OK.
