Edith Lucinda Johnson

Edith Lucinda (Edmonson) Johnson, age 94, went to be with her lord and Savior on Friday, May 27, 2011, in Jones, OK. She is survived by five wonderful children, Jerry Johnson of Eufaula, Donald Johnson of Coalgate, Eddie Johnson of Lake Texoma, Wendell Johnson of Jones, and Jane Hacker of Choctaw; and three sisters-in-law, Faye Johnson of Oklahoma City, Pauline Flowers of Jones, and Edna Flowers of Shawnee. Edith was reunited above with her handsome husband, Lloyd Johnson and her beloved sons, LaDoye Johnson and Steve Johnson, as well as 2 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Edith was born on September 24, 1916, in Lincoln County. Edith and Lloyd began their family in Meeker, OK, before finally settling in Jones, OK. She was a loving homemaker for their 7 children and numerous others that she so selflessly cared for during her lifetime. Her passions were providing for her family and ensuring no one left her home hungry. She has left behind 5 children, 19 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, 25 great-great grandchildren, friends and numerous loved ones who will always cherish the memories they have of Edith Johnson, who was simply known as 'Grandma.' Services will be held on Wednesday, June 1, 2011, at the Morning Star Baptist Church in Meeker, OK at 10:00 A.M., with interment at New Salem Cemetery in Jacktown, OK. Services are under the direction of Smith~Parks Funeral Service in Harrah, OK.
