Dixie June Smith, Newalla, OK, age 81, was born on October 3, 1929, in Webbers Falls, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of Thomas & Nancy (Childers) Anderson. She left this life on Thursday, September 1, 2011, in McLoud, OK. Dixie married Ray Smith on October 19, 1946, in Muskogee, OK. She was a manicurist and homemaker. Dixie loved working in the dirt especially in her flower beds and gardens. She enjoyed feeding the birds, squirrels and any other animals. She loved the outdoors and nature. Dixie was preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers and 5 sisters. She is survived by her husband, Ray Smith, Newalla, OK; son & daughter-in-law, Stanley & Tena Smith, Whitesboro, TX; daughter & son-in-law, Deborah & Lee Proctor, Lake Tenkiller, OK; 3 sisters, Doris Smith, Muskogee, OK, Minnie George, CA, Francielle Dormier, CA; 2 grandchildren, Lisa Proctor, Gunnar Proctor; 1 great-grandson, Sean Proctor and many other relatives and friends. Services will be 10:00 AM, Wednesday, September 7, 2011, at the Asa Smith Memorial Chapel, Harrah, OK. Interment will follow at Agnew Cemetery, Keefeton, OK. Services are under the direction of Smith~Parks Funeral Service in Harrah, OK.
