Darrell Allen Dukes

Darrell Allen Dukes was born on July 1, 1935, in Paden, Oklahoma, and departed this life on Friday, June 8, 2007, in Prague, Oklahoma, at the age of 71. Darrell, the son of Arthur Dewey and Alta Belle Little Dukes, was a resident of Prague. He was a graduate of Paden High School. He married Maxine Ellison on December 23, 1955, in Paden. Darrell was a long-time employee of the Prague Public Schools. He worked tirelessly as a volunteer with the City of Prague in various capacities including ambulance service, fire department, and civil defense. He was a retired Prague Fire Chief and Civil Defense Director. Darrell was a member of the First Baptist Church and the Masonic Lodge. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, and one sister. Survivors include his wife of over 50 years Maxine Dukes of the home; sons, Mike Dukes and his special friend Amanda of Prague; Dennis Dukes and his wife Jamie of Prague Grandchildren: Allen and Brandy Moore of Paden Mike Dukes, Jr., of Eufaula Denise and Scott Cindle of Paden Aimee Dukes of Tecumseh Shelby Dukes of Prague Great-grandchildren: Tanner Moore, Garrett Moore, and Bailey Cindle Sisters-in-law: Dolores Dukes of Prague Cheryl Dukes of Prague Many nieces, nephews, and other friends.
