Charles Warren Ownbey

Charles Warren Ownbey, 81, of Newalla, OK, died in his home, September 15, 2008, surrounded by his family. He was born on August 3, 1927 in Newalla, OK, to Ercy Ray Ownbey & Myrtle Jordan Derrick Ownbey. Charles graduated from McLoud High School. He worked in the woodmill at Tinker AFB, retiring in 1981 after 31 years, 6 months of civil service. Charles was preceded in death by his parents and 2 brothers. Survivors include his wife, Dolores Ownbey, Newalla, OK; 3 daughters, Patsy Kudrna & husband, Ronnie of Newalla, Peggy Troutt & husband, Dwayne of McLoud, Nancy Drew & husband, Patrick of Harrah; eight grandchildren, Amy Tate, Zachary Kudrna, Brandon Troutt & wife Shawna, April Troutt & fianc, Scott Hatchell, Brooke Drew, Brayden Drew, Breanna Drew, Brock Drew; 6 great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, 4 nieces and a very special nephew, Kenneth Ownbey & wife, Patti of Moore. He was a wonderful husband, dad, grandpa, great-grandpa and will be missed greatly by family and friends. A special thanks to Angelic Family Hospice, especially nurses Kendra & Michele. Memorials may be made to Angelic Family Hospice, 421 N. Beard, Shawnee, OK 74801, phone 275-8300. Services will be held at 10:00 AM, Thursday, September 18, 2008, at the Choctaw Road Baptist Church, Choctaw, OK, with Rev. Rick Sowell and Rev. Bill Derrick officiating. Interment will follow at Dale Cemetery, Dale, OK. Services are under the direction of Smith-Parks Funeral Service, Harrah, OK.
