Burlen Lee Cody was born in Stroud, Oklahoma on October 24, 1932 and departed this life in Stroud, Oklahoma on October 16, 2015 at the age of 82 years. Burlen was the son of Orville William and Juanita Jane (Smalley) Cody. He was a resident of Stroud all of his life. He was in the United States Army where he served in the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the VFW in Bristow, Oklahoma. He was Affiliated with the First Baptist Church in Stroud and worked in the oilfield as a pumper. Burlen married Lorraine Carroll in DeRidder, Louisana on June 27, 1958. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, William Dale and Donald, Suvivors include, wife Lorraine of the home, three brothers, Gary Cody of Stroud, Rick Cody of Stroud and Danny Ray Cody of Tulsa, three sisters, Roxie Benjamin of Tulsa, Veva Hoh of Rowlett, TX, and Jonita Grbbs of Tulsa. Niece, Casie Cody was the love of his life, other relatives and friends. Memorial service will be held at the First Baptist Church in Stroud on Monday October 19, 2015 at 10:30 A.M. with Bro. James Bond officiating. Service are under direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Stroud.
