Betty Jo Waters

Betty Jo Waters was born on September 24, 1926 east of Davenport, OK and passed to be with her Lord Sunday, July 30, 2023 at home east of Davenport, OK at the age of 96.

Betty, the daughter of Archie D and Prudibelle (Scott) Oliver was a long-time resident of Davenport. She married Kenneth Waters on August 16, 1947, and was a devoted wife and mother. She loved her family, her farm, Davenport, and the Davenport Public Schools where her son, grandchildren and many of her great grandchildren attended. However, what she loved most was her Lord Jesus Christ and the Davenport First Baptist Church and spent her life showing those around her His love.

Her parents, her brother Keith Oliver and her husband Kenneth preceded her in death.

Survivors include her only son Dan Waters and wife Mary. Surviving grandchildren include Misty and her husband Richard Anderson, Sara and her husband Jason Martin, Susan and her husband Zach Highfill, Elizabeth and her husband Eric Gough, Rebecca and her husband Phillip Sutton and Rachel “Annie” and her husband Ricky Machado. Also 12 great grandchildren Kaitlynn Babb; David, Andy and Crosby Martin; Kai, Maddox and Adira Highfill; Alex and Lucy Gough; Trevor and Trinity Sutton; and Ricky “Trae” Machado III survive her.

Services for Betty will be Thursday, August 3, 2023 at Davenport First Baptist Church with Pastor Mike Mitchell officiating. Burial will follow at Davenport Cemetery.
