Artie Chester Waller, Oklahoma City resident, former long-time Davenport, Oklahoma, resident was born on July 12, 1910, in Ardmore, Oklahoma, and departed this life onSunday, August 19, 2007, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, at the age of 97 years. Artie was the daughter of J.L. & Tishie Evans Cordum. She married Bob Waller. Artie worked for Douglas Aircraft at Tinker Air Force Base during WWII, she then managed Grigsby Dry Good Store in Davenport for many years. Artie was an accomplished seamstress and an artist in all types of needlework. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Davenport for over 60 years, where she served as choir director and Sunday School teacher most of that time. Her parents, husband, daughter, Darla; and grandson, Brad; preceded Artie in death. Survivors include, Two step-grandchildren, Several Nieces & Nephews, Other relatives and many friends. Expressions of sympathy may be made to, Davenport, First Baptist Church Building Fund Davenport, Oklahoma Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, August 22, 2007, at 10:00 A.M.at Davenport Cemetery, Davenport, Oklahoma, with Rev. Mike Mitchell officiating. Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Chandler, Oklahoma.
