Alice Oldham, long-time Chandler, Oklahoma, resident was born on July 13, 1936, in Clifty, Arkansas, and departed this life on May 24, 2019, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, at the age of 82 years. Alice was the daughter of Samuel and Nora Lee (Shipman) Hawthorne. She grew up in South Eastern Oklahoma. Alice married Grady Oldham on May 1, 1959, in Durant, Oklahoma. She graduated from South Eastern Oklahoma State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Teaching. Alice worked as an Educator in the Public School System. She had numerous teaching jobs over the years including, Cut Bank, Montana, Tonapah, Nevada, Lufkin, Texas, Pampa, Texas, Liberty Hill, Texas, Jarrell, Texas, and finally Chandler Public Schools where she finished her teaching career. Alice attended Forest Baptist Church for many years. She loved flowers, crocheting, taking care of her family, spending time with her friends, and going out to eat. Alice will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Alice was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel and Nora; husband, Grady; two sisters, Zella Mae, and Louise, and two brothers, Clarence and Jess. Survivors include, her daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Scott Wintz of Chandler, and one granddaughter, Meagan Wintz of Chandler, other relatives and many special friends. Expressions of sympathy may be made to Asthma Research. Her memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM, Thursday, May 30, 2019, at the Chandler First Baptist Church with Rev. Jeff Bruton officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Chandler, Oklahoma.
