Alberta Birdie Rae Deatherage

Alberta Rae 'Birdie' Deatherage, age 52, of Harrah, OK, was born on October 29, 1955, in Oklahoma City, OK. She was the daughter of Arthur Raymond Yancey, Sr. & Ruth Eleanor Yancey. She left this life on Tuesday, May 13, 2008, in Midwest City, OK. Birdie was a homemaker. She married Tommy Deatherage on December 19, 1975 in Choctaw, OK. Birdie was a member of the Harrah and Choctaw Churches of Christ, the Red Cross and the Women''s Auxiliary for the Southwest Lincoln County Fire Department. She enjoyed watching birds and squirrels, quilting, crocheting and traveling with her husband. Birdie was preceded in death by her parents, Art and Ruth and a sister-in-law, Vickie Yancey. Survivors include her husband, Tommy Deatherage of the home; 2 sons & daughters-in-law, Stephen & Brandde Deatherage, Harrah, OK, Donnie & Shelley Deatherage, Harrah, OK; 1 brother, Arthur Yancey, Jr., Stidham, OK; 1 sister & brother-in-law, Jackie & Art Catrow, Harrah, OK; 5 grandchildren, Jered, Bailey, Tyler, Madison several nieces, a nephew and many other relatives and friends. Services will be held at 10:00 AM Friday, May 16, 2008, at the Choctaw Church of Christ, Choctaw, OK, with Mr. Marty Kessler and Mr. Jim Mitchell officiating. Interment will follow at Jamison Cemetery, McLoud, OK. Services are under the direction of Smith~Parks Funeral Service in Harrah, OK.
